Egg or No Egg?
Any ‘proper’ Italian will tell you that you should add an egg or two to your Mario’s Meatball Mix. Normally, we would tend to agree with this statement because the egg acts as an additional binder for the other ingredients, so the meatball can then hold its shape and not fall apart. Eggs also add a bit of fat and liquid.
However, we specifically formulated Mario’s Meatball Mix so you don’t have to add any eggs.
Our mix works to keep your meatballs round and whole, but if you feel you absolutely have to add an egg to your meatballs — then go ahead and throw one into the mix.
